simple as adding a silkscreen logo or more complex such as a special backplane or component integration, Tracewell Systems’ ABC Modification Program can provide a design to suit your 
needs in a fraction of the time and cost of a full custom solution. By starting with an existing 
design, much of the complex engineering and test will already be complete. Whatever engineering 
is needed can therefore be dedicated to the specific requirements of your project, meaning lower 
cost and faster development time.

Class A modifications involve mostly appearance changes and may include special silkscreen 
or labeling, or the deletion of a part from the standard product such as a panel, hardware or a 
power supply. For backplanes these changes could include the addition or removal of parts not 
requiring solder or press-fit assembly.

Class B modifications allow more extensive changes such as custom painting, the addition or 
removal of holes, cutouts in the standard product. Changes do not involve creating new parts, 
wiring or circuitry. For backplanes, this may include assembling unique connectors, shrouds or 
power terminals provided the change does not change the pcb design or production test fixture.

Class C modifications support a high degree of change to the existing product including adding 
or creating new mechanical parts, wiring, or circuitry. Such changes might include a higher wattage 
supply with unique outputs, providing split backplanes or adding monitoring circuitry. Backplane 
changes could include modifications to a standard design to add special connectors, slot sizes, 
or signal routings which may affect the pcb design.

Customer modified products will need to meet the following minimum order criteria:

The ABC Modification Program provides the ability to tailor a chassis per your needs at minimal engineering expense. Tracewell System charges NRS or Non-Recurring Service fees for modifications and maintains all rights to the design and manufacture of the product. This NRS charge is quoted per project and depends on the complexity of the requirement.

Specifying a modified product is easy and takes just a few minutes through the Tracewell Systems website:

1)       First, go to www.tracewellsystems.com and locate the product that most closely meets your 
   requirement.

2)       Next, hit the "Get Info" page for that product and Select "Request a Quote".

3)      Finally, check the closest part number match, enter the quantity and modification required 
  and submit.
